A production-ready inquiry checklist

A practical way to keep the request, open questions, prepared drafts, and human decisions together.

Gather the request. Keep open questions visible. Record the expert’s decision.

Gather the sources

  • Save the original inquiry email and every attached drawing.
  • List quantity, due date, material, and current drawing revision.
  • Keep both values when sources disagree.

Clarify the request

  • Link each confirmed requirement to its source.
  • Ask the responsible person to resolve gaps and conflicts.
  • Record the answer and retain the original source.

Connect the drafts

  • Use the same confirmed requirements for quotation and CAD drawing drafts.
  • Identify the approved rules and templates used.
  • Highlight revised values and every affected output.

Review and record

  • Name the expert responsible for reviewing the package.
  • Present open questions beside the decisive sources.
  • Record the decision, revisions, and separate release authorization.
